Judith LeClair joined the New York Philharmonic as Principal Bassoonist in 1981 at the age of 23. Since that time she has made over fifty solo performances with the orchestra performing under conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta and Andre Previn. Ms. LeClair is on the faculty at the Juilliard School, is an internationally active chamber player and has given master classes throughout the world. Ms LeClair premiered The Five Sacred Trees, a concerto written for her by John Williams.
